Our research group is developing AI-powered frameworks to support the safe and efficient deployment of nuclear microreactors. The approach uses large language models and knowledge graphs to align procedures, regulations, and training across different countries.

Jinfeng Lou, Shambhavi Jilkar, Zijie Liang, and Gina Im, led by Prof. Pingbo Tang, presented HMHI’s work on human–AI collaboration in water systems and infrastructure operations in changing environments. The project is supported by the Carnegie Bosch Institute, with special thanks to Dr. Yuxin Zhang for the collaboration.

Pengkun’s bridge inspection research was featured by the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center. The project uses VR simulation and AI to improve training and consistency in bridge inspections, addressing infrastructure safety challenges.

Seongeun Park Awarded the Chishiki AI Fellowship
Seongeun was awarded the Chishiki AI Fellowship in Civil Engineering, hosted by UT Austin with support from NSF and CII. Her research explores how AI can capture and share tacit knowledge from experienced workers to improve trust in training and decision-making.
